Dear Valued Friends and Colleagues of the Residential Market, I need to inform you of a difficult decision that I have made this month regarding our ongoing sales efforts with TM at Home and the residential dealer channel in TX, OK, AR and LA. TOTAL Marketing's major business concentration has always been in the commercial Pro AV market. Since 1990, TOTAL began some crossover business into the Home Theater and the Residential custom install market. This CEDIA-based market was never our strength but each year following CEDIA, CES and HT Expos, we would again see the energy level and would again dedicate resources to strengthening our sales base in the residential channel. In 2007, we decided to start TM at Home as a division of TOTAL to focus directly on the residential channel. Perhaps my timing has been bad or my product portfolio was inadequate to be successful, but the division did not achieve the growth at the pace that would be economically feasible to maintain. I therefore determined to cease the efforts of TM at Home efforts and concentrate fully on the Pro AV channel. TM at Home will not longer be in business after May 30th.
The good news is that Rusty Wilkinson, one of our TM at Home representatives, is excited about the chance to immediately move with his own representative business and is very determined to strengthen the momentum already started by TM at Home. Rusty will be representing several of the manufacturers that were represented by TM at Home.
